I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I’m broke, and jobless. If you’ve read my first blog post – The American Dream Definition – Redefined, then you know a little bit about what led me to my current state of affairs. It’s not something I’m proud of, but I can either sulk in depression, or lift my head up and take action. Since taking action is the true theme of this blog, that is what I’m going to do.
Without going into all the details and giving you a sob story, I can say that I’m one year into a drawn out bankruptcy, facing foreclosure on my home, and collecting food stamps to support my family while searching for a job. I may have to work at a fast food chain just to get by long enough to get my passive income ventures off the ground. Either way, I’ll do what I have to do.
You might ask yourself, “So why should I listen to you?” and it’s a good question. Am I currently living off of passive income? No. Have I made a good amount of money using this plan in the past, and will I have success in the future? Yes.
Besides, you don’t have to limit yourself to my advice. There are tons of people online, who are successful, with similar blogs. The only difference is — they already have success and might not remember what it’s like to be just starting out. I am here to represent the underdog, including myself, so that we can become successful together!
One of the biggest reasons I am writing this blog is to hold myself accountable, and to share my progress and knowledge as I go. If I can help you even just a little bit, It will put a smile on my face. I know what I want out of life, and the only path to my goal is through doing what I love, sharing my experience, and helping others.
Everything Happens for a Reason
There is a common phrase that says everything happens for a reason. I am a true believer in this and have applied it throughout my life. Whether it be a failed relationship, missed opportunity, or devastating loss, there is always a silver lining if you keep a positive outlook and focus your energy on improving your situation.
For me, losing my job in 2012 was rough, but I learned a lot from it. For one, I realized that having a lot of money doesn’t make you happy if you’re not truly doing something with your life that makes you happy. When I started my own business doing storage auctions full-time, I was making great money and I was doing something I loved. When I gave up on my passions for that of my partner’s I realized that giving up on your dream is the worst mistake anyone can make, especially when your dream is panning out!
So now, I’m broke and jobless once again with no money or credit to start up another Storage Auction business, but with a new dream and passion for passive income. Because I have learned from my mistakes, I won’t make them again in the future. Instead, I will use what I have learned and apply it to this blog so that you can follow along and find light in your darkness. This time I refuse to give up!
But How Do I Build an Income When I’m Broke and Jobless
If you’re looking for the tangible actions in this article, then I apologize. The true way to build an income when you’re broke and jobless is to do everything within your power to make it happen. I am currently finishing up an e-book on how to start a successful Storage Auction Business and video course that I plan on selling as well as building a couple affiliate sites in niche’s that I am knowledgeable and passionate about.
Remember when I made my first $0.40 with my new site? I just checked right now and I’m already at $5.10! Again, this may seem like next to nothing, and it is, but it’s proof that you can make money online. I have done barely any promotion and I’m already making money on work I did last month.
If you’re fortunate enough to already have a job, then I highly recommend building your passive income now in the event of a similar event in your future. To get started, you can read my two previous blogs: How to Make a Passive Income While Working Full-Time and The Fastest Way to Make Money Online.
